Is STREAMING the new standard?

More and more gamers are streaming their games on platforms like Twitch and YouTube. 🎮
This no longer applies only to influencers or well-known personalities. Normal users are also streaming matches for friends or just for fun.

🤔 WHY GAMERS LIKE TO STREAM?

In the last two years, we have all been home more than ever before. Gaming sessions with friends had to be cancelled and we sat alone in front of the console or PC.
What is missing is the interaction with friends while playing, emotions, joy or frustration. 😓
Streaming changed that. Friends tune in, give feedback, are happy or angry together with you. 🤗

And as a little bonus: If you also manage to be entertaining, strangers will take notice and you can build up a small community that joins your stream.

❓ HOW EASY IS IT TO STREAM?

When we think of gaming livestreams, we’re looking at big, elaborate setups. But it doesn’t need to be. With just two clicks, you can go live right from your console these days. 🖥️
For our RawSkill users we have written a short step by step guide:

This proves that today anyone can host a live stream with little effort, so getting started is no longer a pain.

🕵️‍♀️ LET’S LOOK AT TWITCH & FIFA

The best way to explain this is with an example.
While FIFA 20 had an average of only 142 channels live on Twitch at launch, one year later during the FIFA 21 season and average of 781 channels where live! 📈
(check https://sullygnome.com/ for detailed stats)

A large part of this is made up of small streamers who stream privately for their circle of friends.
Or they participate in events like ours at RawSkill.

🚎 HOW WE BROUGHT USERS TO TWITCH

In order to participate in our events, each user must stream their matches on Twitch.
For many it is the first time streaming. And even better: Many create a twitch account especially for RawSkill. 👌

With RawSkill, we have acquired 27k users for Twitch, who are not only watching but creating. Twitch lives from its creators (chicken-egg problem)

This just shows that the hurdle to streaming is non-existent.

🙋‍♂️ WHAT ABOUT OFFLINE THOUGH?

Our software tracks user results from Twitch, how is that possible for an offline event?
We also have the solution 🕺
On each console, a separate RawSkill Twitch account will be set up to stream to. We pick up the results as usual and can thus satisfy an infinite number of participants without having to enter a result by hand even once.
Only thing that can slow us down is the internet speed ;)

Upshot:
Streaming is no longer a hassle, anyone can get started right away, and that’s why we continue to see the future of gaming on Twitch and YouTube.
